There's a common misconception that healthy eating needs to be expensive and time consuming. Put 10 extra minutes of thought in to your grocery shopping at the beginning of the week, and you'll be set for the entire week. Here are a few ideas of some yummy snacks you can have prepared for the entire week so you grab a healthy option first.

1) Carrot sticks ( or baby carrotts ) : Either option is fine and just as healthy. Remember not to be tempted to dip these in to a cream cheese or sour cream-based dip, which will kill the healthiness factor.

2) Hummus and pita bread : Hummus is a great source of protein. You can mix up a big batch of hummus or buy it prepared. It's most just chickpeas and a bit of olive oil and garlic. It'll keep you full until the next meal. Make sure your pita bread is whole grain otherwise it will cause your blood sugar to peak and plummet.

3) Hard boiled egg : It's easy to hard boil a batch of eggs at the beginning of the week. To hard boil an egg, fill a pot with water, place your eggs in it, bring it to a boil, take the pot off the burner, and let the eggs sit for 12-15 min. After that, drain the water out, and place eggs in a boil of ice water and stick in the fridge. These are also good sources of protein.
